Nargis Fakhri will be seen as Emraan Hashmi's on-screen wife
Actor Nargis Fakhri will play former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin's wife Sangeeta Bijlani in the upcoming biopic Azhar. Emraan Hashmi will be playing the role of the former Indian cricketer, and Nargis will play his on-screen wife.
"We have locked Nargis to play Sangeeta Bijlani in the film. She fit the bill in terms of looks, style and glamour. We did the look test with her. She is a talented actress, and we are glad to have her on board," sources told PTI.

In order to get into the skin of the character, Nargis will need to attend some workshops. For this role, names of actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nimrat Kaur had also cropped up. Besides Nargis, there will be another actor in the film as well. "There will be another heroine, and that too, will be an established one. We are yet to decide who we should cast," the source added.
Azhar will trace the journey of Azharuddin's career and his personal life, both of which have witnessed many ups and downs. The film is likely to go on floors next month. Tony D'Souza is heading the project, and Azhar, in all probability, will be released in January 2017.
